Inez serves as the Office Manager for the Center for Student Engagement. She has served the University of Tennessee for 15 years and in the center for 12 years. In her role, Inez supervises all student assistant staff members and provides primary financial processing and administrative support for all student fee-funded campus activities. Inez enjoys learning and she has passed the Certified Administrative Professionals exam, the Organizational Management exam and has received a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certificate in PowerPoint over the past several years. She is currently furthering her education by taking classes at Pellissippi State for her Associate’s Degree in Accounting. During her years with the Center, Inez has earned numerous awards such as; Koala T Performance 2007, Non-Exempt Employee of the Year 2010, “Whatever it Takes” 2013, Dean of Student Above and Beyond Award 2014, and the Service of Excellence Award in 2017.
Inez also worked for three years at the School of Art as the Administrative Assistant. In this role she assisted with enrolling students in Art classes, assisted with models for the classes, collected grades, and provided support to the Accounting Specialist.
Inez greatly enjoys working with students. Prior to coming to UT, Inez worked with Knox County Schools for seven years. She transitioned from working with younger children to working with college students. She enjoys seeing the students and helping them with anything they might need. Regardless of where she is, she has a love for children and students. She enjoys being of help to others when she can.
In her free time, she enjoys her daughter and two granddaughters. Her grandchildren are 14 years and 20 months old. She says they keep her young.
