The University of Tennessee does not provide any funding to student organizations for operating and start-up costs. However, the University does provide opportunities for student organizations to acquire funds and co-sponsorship for events sponsored by student organizations.

Ready for the World Funding
As part of Ready for the World: the Intercultural and International Initiative, the Provost calls for proposals from University Faculty, Staff, and registered Student Organizations for special projects explicitly designed to improve undergraduate education and further one or more of the Ready for the World Initiative Goals and three or more of the Ready for the World Student Learning Outcomes.
Ready for the World can provide up to $5,000 to events meeting their criteria. More information can be found at http://rftw.utk.edu/
VOLstarter Fundraising Platform
VOLstarter is an online crowdfunding tool created by the University of Tennessee that allows individuals and student organizations to create and share fundraising campaigns with an engaged community. Supporters can go online and contribute to the project financially. More information can be found at https://volstarter.utk.edu.
Student Organization Travel Fund
The Student Organization Travel Fund is offered to registered student organizations who have a need to travel to off campus, regional, state, or national organizational events, competitions, etc. to represent the University of Tennessee. The organization’s travel should be within the scope of the organization’s mission and purpose, as well as benefit the university and increase effectiveness of the organization. Guidelines/ Criteria for the Student Organization Travel Fund. Applications should be submitted by at least 6 weeks prior to travel and are reviewed the last week of each month. Examples of travel the SOTF Allocation Committee has funded in the Spring 2019 includes, but is not limited to: Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity to the Principled Leadership Business Institute in Atlanta, GA; Mock Trial to the AMTA Regional Tournament in Louisville, KY; Tennessee Speech and Debate Society to 11th Annual Eddy Shell Invitational in Bossier City, LA; Food Science Club to the Institute of Food Technologists Student Association Midwest Area Meeting in West Lafayette, IN.
