The annual renewal process for the 2024-2025 academic year is now open. Priority renewal will end on August 9.
Annually, student organizations are required to re-register with the Center for Student Engagement to maintain their active status on campus. If your organization does not renew with the Center for Student Engagement by that deadline, your organization will be marked inactive. If the organization is inactive, your organization will be unable to reserve rooms on campus or have access to all of the benefits of being a registered student organization.
Organizations who were new in the Fall 2023 semester are expected to complete the Annual Renewal process.

Student Organization Renewal for the 2024-2025 academic year is officially open! The Annual Renewal Process includes two essential steps to successfully renew your organization with the Center for Student Engagement for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Step 1: Complete the Renewal Form on VOLink
The Renewal Form on VOLink indicates the organization leadership, provides an updated profile for your organization, and policy agreements.

- Navigate to the “Organizations” tab
- Select “Register an Organization” on the left side
- Search your organization and fill out the necessary categories
Note: If the blue link button does not appear by your organization’s name, a renewal form for this academic year has already been submitted for your organization.
Step 2: Attend SOCK
Save the date! On August 17, the Student Organization Conference at Knoxville (SOCK) will be held at the Student Union. This conference will provide student leaders with the opportunity to gain knowledge in topics such as, campus/department policies and procedures, VOLink, programming, leadership, and other essential information for organizational success!
By filling out your Annual Renewal Form, you are registering to attend SOCK. Towards the end of the form, you’ll be promped to identify which organization leaders will attend SOCK on your organization’s behalf.
Please keep in mind that attendance at this conference is mandatory for each organization, per Hilltopics. If you’re unable to attend, we ask that an organization representative stand in your place. More details regarding time and specific locations will be shared via email closer to the beginning of the year.
Student Engagement Fair Registration
This year, the Annual Renewal Form will also include a space to register for the 2024 Student Engagement Fair to be held on August 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Pedestrian Walkway.
A few things to note about this registration process:
- Availability is based on a first-come, first-serve basis in regards to time of registration
- There is a limited number of tables available for student organizations
- The earlier this form is completed, the higher the likelihood will be of securing your organization a table
- A table will be provided to each organization selected to participate. We encourage you to bring informational materials and give-a-ways for distribution
- You will be notified if you received a table closer to the event date
The Engagement Fair is only offered to Registered Student Organizations. To be eligible to participate in the Student Engagement Fair, you must complete the Annual Renewal Form and attend SOCK.
